A comprehensive classroom Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) for ambulance operators using the proven discussion and participation based “Coaching” method of training. The course covers many operator topics including due regard, inspections, defensive driving in emergency and non-emergency situations, use of lights and sirens, distracted driving, fatigue, adverse weather, and more.

The Coaching Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) is a highly interactive course, designed to improve ambulance driving skills while reducing accidents, injuries, and legal liability.

In order to reduce injury, loss of life, and legal liability, operating an ambulance in a professional manner must be an important consideration, in daily operations This comprehensive emergency vehicle operator course provides ambulance operators with skills and techniques to maximize their driving skills for safe operation and to help make sure everyone – EMS personnel, patients and crew reach their destination safely and efficiently, without jeopardizing the safety of the general public.

CEVO®: Ambulance Maneuvering Skills

  • The purpose of the exercises is to test your operator’s ability to handle any maneuverability challenges that they might encounter. Annual training provides an opportunity for operators to demonstrate their ability to safely maneuver the various ambulances that they are expected to operate.
  • Duration is two days and is geared towards anyone who may be the driver of an ambulance. A current driving license is required for the skills part of the course.
