Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)

Description

PHTLS is the world’s leading prehospital trauma care course, developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma. This internationally recognized program promotes excellence in trauma patient management and enhances the delivery of life-saving care in the field.

Taught in over 64 countries, PHTLS is designed for EMTs, paramedics, physicians, nurses, and other prehospital providers who are committed to advancing their trauma care knowledge and skills.

Why Choose PHTLS?

PHTLS improves trauma outcomes by teaching EMS practitioners to think critically and act decisively in time-sensitive situations. The course is grounded in the philosophy of treating the multi-system trauma patient as a unique and complex challenge, rather than a collection of individual injuries.

Participants learn to:

    • Make informed, rapid decisions in chaotic environments
    • Manage trauma patients using evidence-based principles
    • Prioritize interventions based on mechanism of injury, assessment findings, and physiology
