Certification Includes:
Participants are introduced to key skills and knowledge through engaging instruction and hands-on practice. The curriculum covers:
- First Aid Basics
- Medical Emergencies
- Injury Emergencies
- Environmental Emergencies
- Opioid-Associated Life-Threatening Emergencies
- Preventing Illness and Injury
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

- List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of a first aid rescuer
- Describe the key steps in administering first aid
- Safely remove protective gloves
- Assess the situation and identify the problem
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening conditions including:
- Heart attack
- Difficulty breathing
- Choking (adults, children, infants)
- Severe bleeding
- Shock
- Stroke
- Use an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen)
- Apply techniques for bleeding control and bandaging
- Identify signs and appropriate responses to common injuries and illnesses
- Access reliable resources for illness and injury prevention
- Understand legal considerations for first aid providers
