EMS Instructor: This introductory course covers theories and principles of adult learning and teaching, including development of effective EMS course objectives, lectures, outlines and examinations. The course includes introduction to use of DOT curricula and materials. The entry-level EMS educator must have the ability to engage in learner-centered, outcome-based practices articulated by the curriculum. Successful completion of the curriculum should provide the opportunity for building and developing teaching skills on a solid foundation that will lead to higher levels of instructional and administrative expertise. Some experience in teaching is preferred. Individuals involved in pre-hospital or in-hospital care can take the course.

EMS Management: This course emphasizes knowledge, skills and abilities required of first-line managers of EMS systems, including personnel, operations and equipment. A great starting point for those interested in a career as EMS Managers / Administrators.

Emergency Medical Responder (First Responder): Anyone with an interest in pre-hospital training beyond First Aid, whom may have to respond to and provide medical support for injured or ill individuals until arrival of EMS personnel. The Emergency Medical Responder acts in a broader role such as HS&E, Law enforcement, Military, Fire department, Prisons department, Industrial response teams, Community response, Security personnel etc.

- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Proficiency in reading, writing and comprehension (A curriculum vitae must be submitted and an
- entry assessment test will be administered where appropriate)
- Must successfully complete CPR/AED training

Emergency Medical Technician
The Emergency Medical Technician course curriculum extends for a minimum of three (3 1/2) months. The training is designed to instruct a student to the level of Emergency Medical Technician who serves as a vital link in the chain health care at the pre hospital level. This course follows the United States DOT National EMS Education Standards
The programme consists of classroom theory & practical instruction. In addition, students have to complete ambulance and / or hospital rotations. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be eligible to complete the United States National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) computer based exam.
Pre-requisites
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Minimum three (3) CXC passes or equivalent (grades 1-3 general proficiency or grade 1 basic).
A proficiency test will be administered where participants do not possess the academic qualifications.
- Must be able to perform duties of an EMT, including lifting & moving patients
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider training/certification
(CPR/AED) or equivalent
- May not have physical or psychological dependence to any substance other than those recognized
as therapeutic treatments for valid medical conditions for which they are currently under the care of a physician.
- Criminal Records Check (police certificate of good character)
- Proof of Immunizations including TB (within the last year),Hepatitis B, tetanus, Yellow fever,
H1N1 & MMR

Advanced EMT: This course follows the United States United States DOT National EMS Education Standards AEMT course curriculum and extends for a approximately five(5) months. The training consists of classroom theory & practical instruction.
Pre-requisites: (All EMT requirements plus)
- Current NREMT Basic, CPR & AED certification
- Minimum one year EMT Basic experience
- Minimum five (5) CXC passes (grades 1-3 general proficiency) or equivalent
- Successful completion of a pre-course in Anatomy & Physiology

Paramedic: This course is offered for anyone who wants to provide advanced level of emergency medical care with an EMS service, hospital, fire department, or other healthcare setting. The Paramedic course follows the United States United States DOT National EMS Education Standards EMT-Paramedic curriculum and extends for a minimum of one year. The training includes classroom and laboratory instruction and patient contacts with an ambulance service and hospital Intensive Care, Accident & Emergency, Surgical, Pediatric and similar departments. Upon successful completion of the course the student will be eligible to complete the United States National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic practical and computer based exam.
Pre-requisites: (All AEMT plus)
- Successful completion of the Health Occupation Based Entrance Exam (HOBET)
